The most unconventional ‘wedding’ you’ve ever attended

… basically, this is our reception: delayed by 6 months. Because we can!

We got married! Yup, just like that, no huge audience, no huge pressure. Just us, tying the knot in our own quiet way about six months back. But you know us, we can’t let it go without a bit of a bash. So, we’re throwing what we’re affectionately calling our “not-really-a-wedding” party, and you’re invited!

   Joe & Nicole
THE DETAILS

Our “It’s Not Really a Wedding” Celebration

Where & When?

Hartenberg Wine Estate (a very special venue for us)

29 February 2024

1pm-5ish (very relaxed, picnic vibe)

Food & Drinks

Since we’re not doing anything the “usual” way – we’ve also decided to just offer burgers & chips (classic wedding food can go fly a kite)

We will provide some water, juice for the kiddos, white & red wine. If you’d like beer or anything else, you’re more than welcome to order that directly from the farm at your own expense.

Dress code

Smart-casual. Please do not come in formal ware. Think of this as a picnic for a wedding celebration – outdoors, on the grass, super relaxed. We’re not here for pressure and you shouldn’t be either.

Just remember it is on a farm, so high heels might not be the smartest idea unless you’re into grass aeration 😉

Heed this warning: it’s at the end of February, most likely going to be a scorcher, cool & comfortable is the name of the game.

Gift Registry
We don’t expect you to give us a gift, but if you do, we’d love contributions towards our honeymoon in Australia at the end of this year. Any contribution will be anonymous, just click here.

If you’d prefer to do a direct bank transfer, here are the details:

Acc. Number: 62832910336

If you’d like to give us a gift on the day: we always appreciate a good wine, experience/adventure vouchers, and we LOVE cooking together (so make of that what you will).

Our Love Story

An introverted web designer & a wine lover walk into a play… yup, that’s were it all began.

A few days later we went on a coffee date (no alcohol in sight) and it was surprisingly not awkward. That’s when we both knew something was happening.

Fast forward a year, we moved in together and in 2021, amidst a world that felt upside down, we made our own universe more official and got engaged. On August 29th, 2023, we said ‘I do’ in what was the most “us” way possible — low-key & intimate.

And now, here we are, throwing a bash to celebrate with you, because we want to share these milestones with the people who’ve been cheering us on from the sidelines!

Just remember, if you find yourself in a conversation with Joe, be prepared to nod knowingly as he waxes poetic about the wine world & just wants to make you laugh. And if you catch me in a corner, I’m probably going to hope you talk first, and wonder where Joe is with my wine I asked him for 20 minutes ago.

Can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Will you be joining us?
